As part of the Green Week in Rijeka, UC Čistoća Rijeka organized an event called Let a book go, and veggies on your balcony can grow. The activities took place at a stand next to the former Post Office building in Korzo on Friday, 17 May 2019 from 10.00 am.

As part of the activities, interested citizens were able to exchange books from their home libraries for seedlings of small balcony vegetables.

Packages containing one seedling of basil, dwarf tomato and parsley were prepared, and detailed instructions for cultivation were given out as well as information on the health benefits of these plants. Each citizen received one package of seedlings in exchange for one book.
