Waste prevention happens before a material or product has become waste at all.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Thinking about waste prevention starts before you buy a product, before you make a purchase decision. It is primarily about planning or changing the way you plan many and different activities in life, which should include an important goal from the very beginning \u2013 to prevent waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are some examples of thinking along these lines<\/strong>:

Instead of printing and sending out hard copies, I use email.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

  • I exchange used clothing with my friends, neighbours, relatives, acquaintances, or I donate them to the less fortunate,<\/li>
  • I buy reasonable quantities of food \u2013 I don\u2019t buy excessive amounts because I know it will spoil and I will have to throw it away later,<\/li>
  • I use reusable products,<\/li>
  • I don\u2019t use disposable products,<\/li>
  • I choose a reusable glass bottle instead of disposable plastic packaging.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
