Paper is a valuable raw material that can be recycled four to six times, thus saving water, energy and preventing de-forestation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-green-light-background-color has-background\">To be disposed of in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/bins\/\">blue bin<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/mobile-recycling-yards\/\">mobile recycling yard<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/recycling-yards\/\">recycling yard<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Scrap metal<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"5348\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/ikona-metal\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-metal.svg\" data-orig-size=\"96,96\" data-comments-opened=\"0\" data-image-meta=\"[]\" data-image-title=\"ikona-metal\" data-image-description=\"\" data-image-caption=\"\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-metal.svg\" src=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2020\/03\/ikona-metal.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5348\" width=\"96\" height=\"96\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Metal is produced from natural raw materials \u2013 ores, which make up a significant part of the natural wealth and resources whose reserves are being depleted by unreasonable exploitation. Metallic waste holds a great potential for reuse. We can find it in metal packaging, household appliances, video and audio technology, batteries, cables, etc. Separate collection of metal waste preserves natural resources, reduces the consumption of electricity, chemicals and water in production processes, reduces waste generation, and contributes to the preservation of the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-green-light-background-color has-background\">To be disposed of in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/bins\/\">yellow bin<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/mobile-recycling-yards\/\">mobile recycling yard<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/recycling-yards\/\">recycling yard<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Glass waste<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"5352\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/ikona-staklo\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-staklo.svg\" data-orig-size=\"96,96\" data-comments-opened=\"0\" data-image-meta=\"[]\" data-image-title=\"ikona-staklo\" data-image-description=\"\" data-image-caption=\"\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-staklo.svg\" src=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2020\/03\/ikona-staklo.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5352\" width=\"96\" height=\"96\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Large amounts of energy and natural raw materials \u2013 quartz sand, limestone and soda, are used for the production of glass packaging. Waste glass can be completely recycled countless times and is therefore one of the priority materials for separate collection. Recycling of 1 tonne of glass packaging waste saves 700 kg of quartz sand, 200 kg of limestone and up to 180 kg of soda in raw materials, and yields energy savings of up to 30 m\u00b3 of natural gas, or 950 kWh of electricity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-green-light-background-color has-background\">To be disposed of in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/bins\/\">orange bin<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/mobile-recycling-yards\/\">mobile recycling yard<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/recycling-yards\/\">recycling yard<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Waste plastic<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"5350\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/ikona-plastika\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-plastika.svg\" data-orig-size=\"96,96\" data-comments-opened=\"0\" data-image-meta=\"[]\" data-image-title=\"ikona-plastika\" data-image-description=\"\" data-image-caption=\"\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-plastika.svg\" src=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2020\/03\/ikona-plastika.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5350\" width=\"96\" height=\"96\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Plastic is a material obtained from petroleum, natural gas and coal. Nowadays, plastic is used in almost all industries, especially as a raw material for the production of packaging and other products that we use every day. It takes between 100 and 1,000 years for plastic products to decompose, so by recycling plastics, we help preserve the environment, but also protect the natural resources of oil and natural gas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-green-light-background-color has-background\">To be disposed of in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/bins\/\">yellow bin<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/mobile-recycling-yards\/\">mobile recycling yard<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/recycling-yards\/\">recycling yard<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Textile waste<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"5353\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/ikona-tekstil\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-tekstil.svg\" data-orig-size=\"96,96\" data-comments-opened=\"0\" data-image-meta=\"[]\" data-image-title=\"ikona-tekstil\" data-image-description=\"\" data-image-caption=\"\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-tekstil.svg\" src=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2020\/03\/ikona-tekstil.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5353\" width=\"96\" height=\"96\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Textile is a material made of fibres of plant or animal origin (cotton, wool), or of artificial origin, obtained by chemical-technological processes, most often from wood pulp or petrochemical products derived from oil or natural gas. Textile makes up 2-4% of total waste. By separate collection and recycling, we contribute to the protection of the environment and the preservation of valuable natural resources. Used textile materials have great potential for reuse, as well as recycling. They can be used for the production of cloths for various purposes, for sound and thermal insulation in construction, interior linings in the automotive industry, fillings for mattresses in the furniture industry, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-green-light-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>To be disposed of in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/textile-and-footwear-bins\/\">textile bins<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Large (bulky) waste<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"5347\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/ikona-krupni\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-krupni.svg\" data-orig-size=\"96,96\" data-comments-opened=\"0\" data-image-meta=\"[]\" data-image-title=\"ikona-krupni\" data-image-description=\"\" data-image-caption=\"\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-krupni.svg\" src=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2020\/03\/ikona-krupni.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5347\" width=\"96\" height=\"96\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Large (bulky) municipal waste is an object or substance that must be collected separately due to its volume and\/or mass. Bulky household waste consists of furniture, floor linings, bathroom furnishings, kitchen furnishings, garden furniture, and other bulky waste such as blinds, windows, radiators, etc. A large portion of bulky waste consists of valuable raw materials which, if separated, represent a valuable raw material for recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-green-light-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>To be disposed of in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/recycling-yards\/\">recycling yard<\/a>&nbsp;or in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/bulky-waste\/\">large containers called skips<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Batteries and car batteries<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"5342\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/ikona-akumulatori\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-akumulatori.svg\" data-orig-size=\"96,96\" data-comments-opened=\"0\" data-image-meta=\"[]\" data-image-title=\"ikona-akumulatori\" data-image-description=\"\" data-image-caption=\"\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-akumulatori.svg\" src=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2020\/03\/ikona-akumulatori.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5342\" width=\"96\" height=\"96\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Old and used-up batteries (accumulators) should not be mixed and disposed of together with household (municipal) waste as they contain dangerous heavy metals such as mercury, lead and cadmium, which can pollute the environment and harm human health. Since most waste batteries (accumulators) are classified as hazardous waste, they require a special method of disposal. The main benefit of recycling batteries is the reduction of primary consumption of materials and energy, as well as reduced emissions of mercury, lead and cadmium into nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-green-light-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>To be disposed of in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/recycling-yards\/\">recycling yard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Electrical and electronic equipment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"5343\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/ikona-elektronicka\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-elektronicka.svg\" data-orig-size=\"96,96\" data-comments-opened=\"0\" data-image-meta=\"[]\" data-image-title=\"ikona-elektronicka\" data-image-description=\"\" data-image-caption=\"\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-elektronicka.svg\" src=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2020\/03\/ikona-elektronicka.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5343\" width=\"96\" height=\"96\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Electrical and electronic waste contains many harmful substances for human health and the environment.&nbsp; It is, therefore, not allowed to dispose of it together with other household waste, and it is necessary to separate it. It also contains valuable components such as recyclable metals and plastics. Electrical and electronic equipment includes large and small household appliances, information technology (IT) and telecommunications equipment, lighting equipment, electrical and electronic tools, toys, entertainment and recreation equipment, sports equipment, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-green-light-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>To be disposed of in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/recycling-yards\/\">recycling yard<\/a>, while smaller EE waste can be disposed of in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/mobile-recycling-yards\/\">mobile recycling yard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Difficult household waste<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"5351\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/ikona-problematicni\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-problematicni.svg\" data-orig-size=\"96,96\" data-comments-opened=\"0\" data-image-meta=\"[]\" data-image-title=\"ikona-problematicni\" data-image-description=\"\" data-image-caption=\"\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-problematicni.svg\" src=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2020\/03\/ikona-problematicni.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5351\" width=\"96\" height=\"96\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Difficult waste is hazardous waste generated in the household. Although the portion of difficult waste generated in the household is small, it must be collected separately as it contains hazardous substances that can endanger human and animal health, and, as such, poses a danger to the environment. Problematic household waste consists of acids, alkalis, solvents, pesticides, fluorescent lamps, oils, fats, hazardous substances packaging, pressurized packaging, medications, batteries, paints, adhesives and varnishes, cleaning products, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-green-light-background-color has-background\">All difficult household waste is to be disposed of in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/recycling-yards\/\">recycling yard<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-green-light-background-color has-background\">Medications, pressurized metallic packaging, and hazardous substances packaging are to be disposed of in the <a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/mobile-recycling-yards\/\">self-service mobile recycling yard<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-green-light-background-color has-background\">Medications, paints, inks, adhesives, resins, oils, pressurized metal packaging, hazardous substances packaging, fluorescent and energy-saving light bulbs are to be disposed of in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/mobile-recycling-yards\/\">mobile recycling yard with an operator.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Used toner cartridges<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"5354\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/ikona-toneri\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-toneri.svg\" data-orig-size=\"96,96\" data-comments-opened=\"0\" data-image-meta=\"[]\" data-image-title=\"ikona-toneri\" data-image-description=\"\" data-image-caption=\"\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-toneri.svg\" src=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2020\/03\/ikona-toneri.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5354\" width=\"96\" height=\"96\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Toner cartridges for printers, fax machines, multifunctional and similar devices contain many hazardous components and are, therefore, not allowed to be disposed of with other household waste. They must be separated and disposed of properly. By properly disposing of and recycling toner cartridges, we take care of the environment and valuable natural resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-green-light-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>To be disposed of in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/recycling-yards\/\">recycling yard<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/mobile-recycling-yards\/\">mobile recycling yard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>End-of-life tires<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"5346\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/ikona-gume\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-gume.svg\" data-orig-size=\"96,96\" data-comments-opened=\"0\" data-image-meta=\"[]\" data-image-title=\"ikona-gume\" data-image-description=\"\" data-image-caption=\"\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-gume.svg\" src=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2020\/03\/ikona-gume.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5346\" width=\"96\" height=\"96\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>End-of-life vehicle tires are a major waste management problem due to their size, long decomposition time and the problematic components they contain, so they must be collected separately. When collected separately, rubber waste becomes a valuable raw material for the production of new products such as protective floor coverings, road markings, sports hall mats, car or shoe parts. Also, in addition to being used as raw materials, tires can also be used in energy production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-green-light-background-color has-background\">To be disposed of in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/waste-management\/recycling-yards\/\">recycling yard<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Household construction waste<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"5344\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/en\/ikona-gradevni\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-gradevni.svg\" data-orig-size=\"96,96\" data-comments-opened=\"0\" data-image-meta=\"[]\" data-image-title=\"ikona-gradevni\" data-image-description=\"\" data-image-caption=\"\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/ikona-gradevni.svg\" src=\"https:\/\/cistocarijeka.hr\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2020\/03\/ikona-gradevni.svg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5344\" width=\"96\" height=\"96\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Construction waste is generated during the construction, demolition and reconstruction of buildings. Construction waste is mostly inert waste (rubble, ceramics, mortar, plaster, broken concrete, iron, steel, metal, wood, plastic, paper, etc.), but it can also contain hazardous components.
